Circular Book is an artist’s book exploring the circle as a structural and rhythmic principle.
Through concentric cut-outs, mirrored and matte steel, epoxy resin, and photographic layers, the work creates a mutable space in which the pages interact with one another. The project extends a modernist logic of form and continues the exploration of the book as a sculptural object.
This series of graphic works marks the starting point of a long-term artistic research inspired by Sonia Delaunay and her radical rethinking of rhythm, color, and form. This graphic phase later evolved into material experiments — minimal sculptural objects made of metal and epoxy resin — and eventually into artist books.
The choice of Sonia Delaunay as a point of reference is inseparable from historical resonance. Her biography — shaped by displacement, migration, and cultural transition — echoes contemporary experiences of Ukrainian artists working in exile. These works were developed during an art residency initiated to support Ukrainian women artists affected by war and forced migration, establishing a subtle yet meaningful parallel across time.
Photographic layers are integrated as structural elements of the book. The photographs by fellow artist-in-residence Alexandra Skliarenko operate as an additional rhythmical layer in dialogue with material and transparency.

The book is constructed as a metal object with individually assembled pages.

The pages are bound through a welded metal structure, allowing the book to function both as a readable sequence and as a spatial object.
The alternation of forms, materials, and reflective surfaces establishes a non-verbal narrative based on rhythm, pauses, and visual transitions. The structure of the book sets a sequence of spatial states that emerge through page turning and changes in viewpoint.
Mirror Book was created during an artistic residency in Portugal.
