This work reimagines a pivotal dialogue scene from the film adaptation of Henry James’s The Wings of the Dove. In the original film, the conversation unfolds through conventional shot/reverse-shot editing, isolating each character in alternating rhythm.
In the installation, the two characters are shown simultaneously on adjacent projections forming a corner, like an open book. Their lines are spoken in real time, allowing their emotional states to coexist. The footage is re-edited using a custom temporal loop: short sequences repeat, shifting forward by a single frame with each cycle. This creates a flickering effect — a sensation of fractured time and suspended narrative.
By breaking cinematic continuity, the installation reveals its own structure. Viewers enter a space of layered rhythm and embodied perception, where presence replaces progression — a recurring theme in my exploration of poetic and experimental forms of vision.
